Is anyone growing Asian pears?
I know they grow as far north as Korea, but pears in general don't do well in Scotland (I'm told) so I don't know if Asian pears are worth trying.  Any survival?  Any fruit? Thanks by Laura Corin

Which fruit trees for northern lincolnshire
Can anyone advise on which apple, pear, plum and cherry trees grow best in northern Lincolnshire?  The soil is free draining and the area where they will be planted is mostly sunny throughout the day. by Highwayman

pruning a pear tree
production. It is generally best to prune pear trees late in the summer. You will stimulate the least amount of re-growth by pruning after the trees have finished growing for the year and have hardened their wood. If you live in an area where there's a chance by marigold2

Fairy ring and fruit and veg?
Hi, I'm digging up a large portion of my lawn to make a veg patch and herb garden.  I'm also planning to grow some fruit (pears, gooseberries and a grapevine).  Part of the lawn had fairy rings and the soil beneath the turf is very dry and full by Dovefromabove

Suggestions for trees
I'm looking to plant a tree at the end of my garden to give a bit of privacy and interest. Preferably something that flowers but grows up to 10 metres high with a spread of up 5 metres. Any suggestions? All depends really on what you want   Crab by Bettsy
