Best hedging shrubs?
suggests. Make it an 'edible' hedge too - grow your own hazelnuts, sloes, rosehips, crab apples, elderberries and wild pears. Anything you don't eat will be eaten by the birds in winter, while the flowers will provide a long season of pollen and nectar by SFA

weedy neglected patch of a town garden
weeds. Plant month Later. Does the pear tree cast much shade? A lot of annuals prefer to grow in sun. Busy-Lizzies (Impatiens) and bedding begonias are OK with shade. They are quite slow to grow from seed so probably best to buy small plants and plant by Dusty bluebells

Pear Tree Mystery Leaves
Hello, we planted a Pear Tree last year and some new shoots are growing from the base. They are different leaves to the main plant. Is it something to do with the grafting process? Should I cut them back? I’m not sure what to do about it by RobNav

Can you grow Quince as a stepover fruit?
Hi all I'm setting up an allotment and am bordering sections with stepover apples and pears.  However, I'm also keen to grow Quince and wondered if you can do this as a stepover tree and if so how you'd do this/where to buy them? The allotment rules by Iain 2

How many fruit trees?
be able to put into the space ( I think I read somewhere that some trees as cordons can be planted 2 foot apart)? Can you suggest any trees to go in, I'm thinking along the lines of a dessert apple, a pear, plum or damson trees? Are there any combinations by Richardsdrr

No blossom on three year old Victoria Plum
I planted a two year old Vicoria plum last year it has grown well , but has no blossom.  I would presume that it's concentrating on putting down some good roots to support all the fruit it's going to give you in the future.  Also the blossom grows by Lesley bradley
