Talkback: Growing trees in pots
My trees in pots include an Acer, re-potted this year following the planting guide given by Joe.Then there is the Avocado pear tree. This tree was grown from a pip (stone) that germinated in the compost bin a couple of years ago.Finally a trio by Ikman

the ground and getting everywhere. I think it all depends on the ivy involved. I had one growing up the front of the house and I removed it. It was one with enormous leaves and, to me, not very attractive, but a smaller leaved version would have been okay. I by Anne Wareham

Potatoes
rubbish this year I usually grow toms in a GH but planted out spares in the veg bed this year. In the GH a bought plant started to produce cherry toms a few weeks ago(can't remember the name) but red cherry and red pear grown from seed are now going red by Netherfield

This isn't about Cosmos, but reminded me of the first plants I tried to grow from seed, aged about 5 or 6 I guess. Lavatera (great success), cornflowers (brilliant success) and aquilegia (total fail), and I can still remember the disappointment by hazel.luskin@gmail.com

not experiened g/world keep up the good work so we can all grow together I think the show is aimed more at people of all ages and experience learning something new, whether it be completely new ideas or revamped old ones. Keep it coming, I love the new show by L. Jones

Quince
and attempt to make quice jelly from them, I never had much success with this. The sort that grow on a tree look a bit like pears and are quite different. Thanks for that, Green Magpie, it was as I suspected. Perhaps I should invest in a proper Quince tree by Ahmadmirza

Aldi plants
could grow them outside with minimal protection in winter or if you lived further north in a very sheltered garden or conservatory  . Derek I fancy an olive. I had an olive once - it died. Probably not the plant's fault. I gave an olive tree to some by nutcutlet

looking plants So tempted to cheat and buy some aubergine and pepper plants. The one's I've sown are so slow and every so tiny.  o dear david k wat happened to green ffingers??? Hi Zoomer, I don't class it at cheating just adding to your stock. I do grow by nutcutlet
