composting
grow in pots and troughs I wish to reuse the compost as I only use some for a few weeks. I grow peas and  change the compost to plant the next batch. I rotate 5 troughs  planting every 3 weeks and harvesting then replanting so I have a continuous supply by flowerpower5

In flower now
and violas, virburnum and violets. I even have annual sweet peas still growing but no flowers. Most of my spring bulbs are through with buds showing. My wild flowers are up and growing well too.  One of the bonuses of living in the South West I guess. I live by Muvs Dashwood

Tomato
My tomatoes are healthy but just keep producing lots of leaf but not much fruit. What am I doing wrong Overfeeding them.  Plants make fruit if the 'think' there is a likelyhood of their dying.  If you keep feeding it, the plant will keep on growing by Dragonfly2

Talkback: Controlling weeds
, as they are the natural plants to the area and the country (unless it is an un-natural import such as balsam and japanese knotweed) so have the resources to grow well here.  A weed is ony a plant you feel is in the wrong place, your sweet peas will grow and catch up by Reluctant Gardener

Late seed sowing
Recently checked the dates in the past when I sowed carrots, Beetroot, spring onions, etc etc. A few years I did that in mid Feb but mostly in first week in March. I used cloches and fleece and had runner beans growing under home made poly tunnels by Verdun

Hot roof garden = dry pots!
Hello   Last year I moved to a house with a sunny but often windy roof terrace and I set about trying to make it more green and less concrete. Successes were sweet peas, tomatoes, two Clematis (that climbed up the chimney stack) and annual trailing by Jessica CB

small veg patch
to grow easy stuff to start, you can become more adventurous as you get more sure of what you ae doing. Good rule is to grow things that are tooexpensive to buy - peas, beans of all sorts, a salad supply, Cougettes,  Plan your plot into 3 or 4 sections 3ft by osso

Clematis 'Bijou'
For any clematis lovers nout there, I wonder if you've seen the variety 'Bijou'. A very pretty flower and at just 12 inches high, it's ideally suited to growing in pots. David, yes a very nice flower although I would ask why.I like my Clematis by David K
