Talkback: Hybrid musk roses
- they grow and branch not unlike miniature trees - over the last few years I have simply pruned out any branches less than pencil thickness when I prune in January - pruning Penelope too hard will result in a less elegant shape. Higgy: A good thornless rose by sandra

Is everyone else's plants very late this year?
the poppies were flowering by now. Most other plants are at much the same stage as they were last year. I always keep my garden notes each year so I can check back . As you say tho', hopefully if we get our summer !! everything will grow at a pace. Here by Lunarz

't notice if it was on the same branch.  It will soon have some sweet peas to wind through and flower on it so I will continue to be hopeful. It is just that I notice andcovet 'abandoned' ones in wasteland/carparks flowering their socks off! I have 2 by greengirl2

Sweetpeas
bringing in cut blooms because of the greenfly. I will still grow some for next year though, lovely flowers, great scent - I'll be doing my own trial on Autumn/Spring sowed Sweetpeas. The weather has been awful, this has an effect on everything but next by donutsmrs

help? Things to plant now are broad beans and peas (but not mangetout yet). Also beetroot, parsnip and early carrot varieties can go in now. Shallots, onions sets and garlic can go in now (last chance now for garlic as normally they go in in the spring by super mum
