Geraniums (not Pelargoniums)
to grow strong with little trouble.  As you remember the plums and pears - I remember the tastiest potatoes, cabbage and carrots and particularly sitting out with him eating raw peas which always seemed to be enormous.  Roses always seemed to be perfumed by yarrow2

Health and safety!!
Golden Rod, lovely for cut flowers. I can't seem to grow it in my garden, the slugs get it before it has a chance to grow to any size. They'll be digging the grass up next, isn't grass pollen a big problem? I am sure we never used to have so many allergy by Rosa carriola

Talkback: Trees for small gardens
. will any small trees like my courtyard or will they give up the ghost and stop growing when they try to get their roots under the concrete? I am very keen to try the Prunus autumnalis for its dappled shade or possibly an amelanchier. I would love some by McNumps

seeds not germinated
in a propagator on a windowsill. I don't do well with sweet peas either don't know why. I sowed calendula seeds straight into the ground.  They started to grow, I kept them watered and then they disappeared.  Thought it might be slugs, but no sign by Debbie 11
