Talkback: Planting snowdrops
I have tried for years to grow snowdrops from bulbs but all failed. Last month I purchased some snowdrops in pots that were well past their best but in-the-green. I have now replanted them all in a big pot where they will be left undisturbed. I by happymarion

Victoria Plum Tree
Hi, I am a new allotment gardener, although have been gardening for years I have never grown fruit or veg until this year. I planted a very cheap Victoria Plum tree in late Feb, being very careful not to plant it when the ground was frosty. The tree by Claire Martin

Yes Jennifer I've had exactly the same happen to my Bishop of Llandaff. Good idea of yours for the cloche, I'll definitely try it. Can anyone tell me how long an adult vine weevil lives? Yes all this is fine for apples and plums but - do you know by margaretm

Where the roots grow
Dear gardener, the planting of a dragon fruit is similar to planting an apple tree, a plum tree or a shrub. We dug 600 holes (1hectare) 40 cm deep (the roots-length 10-15 cm).We filled the ground with ceramic fragments and Bokashi (look at compost by ThaiGer

Honey fungus
I've a very old plum tree in my garden which always fruits well. It has an old 'scar' about a foot above the ground where I believe a huge bough was removed from many years ago. This has cracked and often has seed grow in it from the friendly birds by Mel Moran

What fruit veg could i plant in a shady garden(peas, strawberries)?
of the day (lots of building around me!). So far last year my biggest triumph was cherry tomatoes and the really tiny 100's & 1000's both grown in pots.  Picked the last of them in October! Plum tomatoes were a failure (2- sad) but I think they need a baking by jpharro

be better. Don't grow a tip bearing apple as these aren't suited to being grown this way. I would also suggest pears grown as cordons rather than plum or cherry which are probably too vigorous and not ideal for cordons (free standing, ie standard, or fans by hawk and rose
