Talkback: Growing ornamental poppies
I did not know you could shear back ornamental poppies and maybe get a few flowers later on! Will give this a go this year! No mention of how to get these plants. Do I wait until summer and buy from a garden centre, or can I grow them from seed by Patricia16

Are they weeds or are they poppies?
flowered If it is the Welsh poppy it can turn into a nuisance, as they're difficult to weed out (they re-grow from scraps of taproot). They like acid soil, and will grow in sun or shade. by Julie Northey
