Potato Blight - which potato to grow

Growing potatoes in pots
I'm new to all this gardening, but I've got a lovely sun soaked patio and I'd like to grow some veg, particularly potatoes. It'll have to be in pots, any advice on when to plant potatoes and in what? Any help would be VERY much appreciated. When you by 222222222

's all they ever grow now. They eat them as new and maincrop potatoes and also leave some in the ground that they have only recently harvested.The problem is that although I prefer Charlotte, if I go to Potato Day I will come back with all sorts by garden5

Potatoes: Some growing, some not
Hello I am new to potato growing and this year have planted 20 first earlies (10 each of Kestrel and Winston) and 20 maincrops (Golden Wonder). All the first earlies are growing merrily and have been earthed up twice. But only some of the maincrops by JossVam

Grapes growing instead of potatoes!
them. Yes been earthing up, but they are growing in one of those potatoe pot things you can buy and when I reached the top, could not put any more earth on top.  Think it was just an odd few that were too near the top. Like kate says do not eat them by Julie J

Ive just found some Carra seed potatoes in my shed today that i had forgotten about, unfortunately i have no space on my allotment to plant out. I recently read on the forum that it was ok to grow spuds in compost bags. I havent tried this method by Edentoy

monty don asked on friday 20th programme what best varity of seed potatoes have viewers sown.and i think you cannot go wrong with charlotte and maris bar new potatoes.each year i grow them in potatoes bags and i get within 2to3 pounds of potatoes by ellios
