Potatoes
Hi, I grow potatoes in bags every year, with quite a good result.  My question to you all is, could I use my home-made compost instead of bought multipurpose compost?  I seem to end up with so much compost in my bins and hope that this would be one by Elva

manure is Cow manure and has a much better aroma. Get your potatoes in now and water well throughout the summer as it is going to be a very hot summer.A bit of cow manure is a great asset to potatoe growth. Mrs G-H, I'm new to Veggie growing too, but I by denzilden

Yes, I'd love to see construction details too - I'll get my hubby to build one for me aswell! I haven't got a problem with a hot box (I don't think). But I WOULD like to try growing SWEET potatoes if it's possible in this country. Has anyone by Colin Knill

Old Compost
Simon Yep-best thing do with it-as a soil conditioner Don't do it if you had Blight though, or at least, don't use the compost in areas where you are going to grow potatoes or tomatoes. I use all old compost, planters as a soil coditioner on my clay soil by Simon5

Feeding potatoes in bags.
I was advised to feed my potatoes which are in bags. They are growing nicely and have reached the top of the bags. Due to all of the rain we have had , the compost is really wet so making it impossible to water any feed in. Should I be covering by Nidge

Raised beds depth
with the dimensions of raised beds on sale at places like Screw Fix. They are 1000 x 1000 x 200mm Isn't 200mm is little shallow given in real terms the soil will only be 175mm deep? Thanks, Mark       It will depend what you intend to grow eg lettuce or potatoes by movingpictureTV.com

I give up!
-sized green tomatoes. The compost heap has grown enormously. This year, the small potatoes I've left in the ground can grow on, among the daffodils and lilies.  If they come, they come.  I'll fill in the space with chrysanths or something for cut flowers, like by francesmhendry
