potato varieties
I have just read that January is the time to start chitting potatoes.  I thought I would try to grow some in patio bags but would like to grow something that I can't buy (cheaper) in the supermarket.  Can anyone recommend any varieties please? Hello by cloud8

of any disease in the soil. I like the acronym People Love Bunches Of Roses for crop rotation - Potatoes, Legumes, Brassicas, Onions/Roots, in that order.But as Leggi says, not growing the same crop repeatedly in the same patch is the key. has anyone by teabag 2

seeding potatoes
I have some little potatoes (maris piper) from this years yeild can I leave them to sprout and use them to grow some more next year..if they will last that long or do I need seeding potatoes.. Im new to growing veg so any advice would be grateful by flowergirl4

last years compost
I grow potatoes and tomatoes and cucumbers in pots and grobags abd potato bags and hanging baskets every year .At the end of the season I am left with half full bags pots etc of compost which I usually put on the garden.I am struggling to find more by bartonr

How do I chit sprouted Poatoes?
This will be the first time I have ever grown potatoes. I am growing them in bags, as my Mother has been extremely sucessful with this method. Her Potatoes last year tasted gorgeous and my Husband and I loved going round to dinner! I took my seed by Pebble Garden

Potato Blight
Hi All Can anybody recomend a good blight resistant Late potato to grow for storagr over winter. Yet again I have got blight on the tops this year as Monty Don suggested in Gardeners World a couple of weeks ago I cut off the tops and we are eating by Colin Atkinson

wire worm how to get rid
my potatoes which they love which made me think of a decoy. I just couldnt get lettuce to grow so i cut up a potato, got bamboo skewers from the cookery isle in my supermarket, I pierced the potato with the skewer and slightly buried it, using by andy young

gentle exploration careful not to break roots may be worth it .  I would not have thought a greenhouse would make much difference but water will, not enough small potatoes too much and they can rot.  If the tops are healthy and still growing they should by Kathleen Hewson
