but they are still green should I pick them and put them in a bowl with a banana to see if they will ripen? I too am relatively new to raspberry growing having moved to a house which has them in the garden. I have some very large rasps with thorny stems by Keith Powney

start than many others? I learned from previous years that when you have had a long wet spell it is very easy to think that they have had enough water and not physically check the soil; I grow on raised beds which do tend to drain faster! best sweetcorn by Wendy Newton

tayberry growing in a pot had some fruit on yesterday morning, yesterday afternoon all gone. It is alright to grow tayberry in a pot? I didnt want it take over the garden. i found this website and i like its products just waiting for my delievery now by judith

quite fresh there till I used it. Borage brightens up my potato patch and I have been known to put sweet peas in among my runner beans. I think sweetcorn looks very smart as a plant. I am just starting to create a garden at my new house and I was told by abbed

so far but the weather here is still very mild.  They will (probably) be back when it gets really cold. I grow teasels and evening primrose for the birds, they really like the seeds.  What other seeds attract them?  I should say that the fields here by rogerT2

I have a eucalyptus tree that is growing in a neighbours garden that is soooo massive it overhangs the end of my garden. The main problem is all the leaves and bark that it drops everywhere all year round. Can anyone tell me if I can compost by James Bond

Home-made compost
they contain parrot poo and discarded fruit. I turn this mix every time I add stuff and you can feel the heat generated in it as I fork it. I recently tested this mix because I have had such little success with growing produce. The test result show low by Pamela Croft

(after a bumper crop!). Over the summer we've dug small sections at a time, taking out all the weed roots as we go. After a strip was dug over we immediately planted something in it - lettuces, potatoes, leeks, cabbages, etc. It's a long and arduous task by Lauren W
