Talkback: Seed potatoes and mice
potatoes in pots or dustbins this year, I cannot grow them in the garden here as the last time I tried every single potato was full of little holes, slug damage! Has anyone got any tips on how to grow them in large pots or bins! While on the subject by Marc

rotten potatoes
hi i have just acquired an allotment. on digging it i am finding lots of rotting potatoes that by looks of things were planted last year and havent been harvested. i have removed the ones i have found, but wonder whats the best thing to grow in same by wendy 8

Just noticed sacks of seed potatoes at my local homebase for 20p. i didn't notice what variety, they look desperate to go into the ground, some of the other grow your own products were reduced too. by sthlndngrower

not much room so have made a couple of boxes 4ftx4ft & plan to grow potatoes in large flower tubes. Unsure if they will be deep enough at 14"? Do I need to feed, if so what & when? I've watched and read about potatoes - now I'm going to give it a go by 3154

I think my green fingers are failing me
Having moved into a new house two years ago, I have tried, unsucessfully to grow potatoes in my "veg plot". I have tried different varieties, but although I get good healthy growth on the top, and plenty of potatoes, they are all scarred and rotten by Carol Oxborough

it harm the growing tubers? Thankyou. My potatoes did not do well this year, however I still have some in a big pot and they don't do well I will try again next year. I planted some of those small artichokes this spring; I now have 8foot tall plants by Charles Johnston
