Roast pumpkin is also very nice, James, Make a sort of roast salad with shallots, pumpkin cut into cubes, potatoes,and parsnips or whatever you have grown that can roast in a good vegetable oil. And keep the masses of seeds you scoop out, toss by Fleecity Firkin

Went for a brilliant trip to the Savill Gardens and loved their display of pumpkins and squash. I have grown many varieties over the years but have decided that next year I'm going to grow enough to make a display that will be worth walking along by Ag Spray

Pumpkins
Hi, I was very jealous watching Montys pumpkin and squash harvest. I live at the top of a fairly exposed hill, near Newcastle, it's snowing outside now. Would i actually have any chance of successfully growing pumpkins and squash or do i just by Just Giles

Split stem courgettes
Often when I grow courgettes (in containers), and sometimes with pumpkins, the plants split their stems just when they seem to be developing well. Is it a watering issue? I try to water consistently and reasonably. It doesn't seem to be a fatal by paull2

to finish picking before the beans block the sun? I thought greyhound cabbage or sweet corn to grow up through. or pumpkin? Lettuce and radishes will crop quickly and not mind shade. Beetroot and chad are fairly quick growing. You might get golf ball by gardening Rev
