. I use this method to grow beans up a fence, and last year tried it with pumpkins, and that worked a dream. Just used thin rope rather than string. What normally happens with a plant that you already have - i.e. will it survive winter and fruit again by Denzle43

can you save seeds from cut flowers?
. Seeds probably wouldn't come true. I've just collecting some petunia seeds from a petunia in the garden which has died off. If I sowed them at the right time do you think they will grow? May be I will try cuttings -  if the flowers don't make seeds I by Gardengirl..

when I will get any fruits, it is still quite small and young, looking forward to that yielding fruit. Previously I grew tomatoes quite successfully, so this year I have decided to grow beetroot, spring onions and a pumpkin. So far all seedilings by chutneyhunter

-raised members of the solanum family - especially aubergines, which require a long growing season - should be grown early as otherwise summer is over before they have come into flower. I wouldn't advise growing courgettes or pumpkins now, as they will be growing by Gardening Express

Growing veg with little space
with a 50:50 sand:multi-purpose compost mix. I'm growing some mini-veg this year in large (14") pots Pumpkin F1 'Windsor' and butternut squash F1 'Butterbush' I shall wait until the plants are quite big (they are just large seedlings atm) before I plant by laarobbins
