Blackberries
. A classic fruit for shade is the redcurrant. These are often grown by gardeners on north walls when they can't think of anything else to grow there! If you plant your blackberry close to the tree, don't forget that the tree will take a lot of water by julieasayers

Gooseberries - no fruits
, be patient and you will have an abundance of fruit the following year, especially if you give them a dusting of blood, fish and bone after pruining, and work it into the soil. They are very easy to grow, I promise you ; and will give you plenty of fruit by thymeandahalf

Fruit for amatures
I've been interested in horticulture since an early age but now at the age of 19 i'm thinking of growing some fruit. Before i do so i wouldn't mind getting the opinions of others to see their views on a good fruit to start off on and how i would by ApprenticeSam
