Conifer mulch
I now garden on heavy clay, topped with 18" -24"of topsoil. The clay is acid - everyone else around grows beautiful Camellias and rhododendrons - but the topsoil is quite different, the Camellias I have here are usually on the yellow side. I by Wic

Are Rhododendrons roots poisonous?
the hedge! Between the house and the hedge there was a 4ft area of grass with nothing growing. I have planted 5 rhododendrons which look wonderful but now am worried that they may affect the beech hedge which would be a disaster!!!  My husband says he thinks by Toni Bingham

Rhododendron : Dark irregular spots on leaves
I planted a new rhododendron in my garden at the beginning of the year.  I planted it in ericaceous compost and my soil is acid in any case. I've just noticed that the majority of the leaves have developed irregular shaped browny black splodges by Chris 7

Rhododendron possibly dying
!!! The leaves are sagging downwards and I've noticed that they are starting to turn brown all over as if they have died. At the base of the plant there is a lot of moss growing around it. There is another rhododendron in the same border which is perfectly by Garden-Girl

advise please, not long been in this house ,we have a Rhodadendem (even spell check didn't recognise my spelling) its about 5 feet tall and wide and is growing from a large stump cut down probably years ago its a little lacking in the amount by Alan4711

Rhododendron bugs
Hey there, my mum asked me for some help with a rhododendron shes had for years.  Shes noticed recently some bugs on the underside of the leaves - little yellow things less than 0.5mm in size that seem very flat and sleek in nature.  Also by wethergirl

about 7 weeks ago after my dwarf rhododendron "blue Tit" finished flowering i took half a dozen cuttings from the new growth that then started to grow.took these and were placed around the edge of a pot in potting compost and then covered with one by vido

mulching advice please
Hi I have cut back my rhododendrons and want to know if I can use the chips from shredding as a mulch on the garden. Someone told me that they put chemicals into the ground (don't know if this is true) that stop other plants from growing and I don by Julie Forshaw

Success and Failures ...
are tough enough to survive my ministrations and planting them! I love hardy perennials. In a sink or swim situation, they usually swim. Failures - I can't grow rhododendrons and azaleas (soil is neutral and I have always failed with them) and roses by Brumbull

White Rhododendron but no White
