mulching advice please
Hi I have cut back my rhododendrons and want to know if I can use the chips from shredding as a mulch on the garden. Someone told me that they put chemicals into the ground (don't know if this is true) that stop other plants from growing and I don by Julie Forshaw

Success and Failures ...

Rhododendrons and horse muck !
We inherited about a dozen, mature rhododendrons/azaleas when we bought our house. They are in a shady area under trees and a very overgrown beech hedge. We have severely pruned the beech hedge now and the rhododendrons are now getting more light by Daisy Cottage

help with 2 plants please- Clematis Jackmanii(?) and Rhodedendron(?)
acidifying if your soil is not already acid. In either case I would feed it with rhododendron food. Other than that, make sure that it stays moist throughout the summer, which should help it revive. The clematis would probably also appreciate some food by siminstance

If you could have any plant / tree in your garden
Regardless of your location and garden conditions if you could have anything in your garden what would you have? I would love a Ginkgo biloba tree. I know they will grow in pots but I'd love a mature one.  a beanstalk, complete with golden egg by KEF

My Roses are dying!!!
My neighbour has used a weedkiller to exterminate ANYTHING that grows in his garden - preferring a stone terrace and no blades of grass Unfortunately it has crept under the conifer hedge and left a 2 metre swathe of dead or dying plants my side!! I by biofreak
