Ericaceous soil

crinodendron recovery
/IMAG0514.jpg it looks like there is couch grass growing in that pot too? any advice on what to do with it? ...are you growing it in ericaceous compost?   it needs acidic conditions, like Rhododendrons and suchlike... if memory serves me right, i think by djjjuk

using ash from wood and brickettes in the garden
the briquette ash though as it may contain traces of heavy metals which are not good for plants or animals, including us. Plants to avoid using the wood ash on include (but are not limited to): Acer, Azalea, Camelia, Heather, Rhododendron, Blueberry, Cranberry by twinkletoes2

Flowering plants that like shade
