Talkback: Growing herbs
I have got two small pots of mint and a pot the rosemary and a bay tree. I am going to have a go at growing Coriander, never grown it before. Couldn't live without my herbs, if nothing else the smell of them is just wonderful. I'm trying by donutsmrs

Talkback: Bug hunt and rosemary leaf beetle
Although the others you describe are probably the harlequin ladybird, Harmonia axyridis, your metallic stripy 'ladybird' is almost certainly a rosemary leaf beetle, Chrysolina americana. Look out for the pale grey grubs, up to 10 mm long, sitting by caitlin

Rampant rosemary
I've got a large rosemary that has got so big it's blocking the view of the garden from the house. Will it re-grow if I give it a very severe haircut into the brown wood? Thanks Mine regrew after a fairly severe haircut, but do it after it by Passionate about perennials

Rosemary bushes
....Benedon Blue, for example. I see so many rosemaries growing with insipid wishy washy flowers and wonder why people don't grow the better varieties. I have one flowering at the moment with the brightest blue and it really,is worth the while searching for it by Tracywt2

with potting soil.  I don't know if they'll grow. Any advice? Also, should i wait until next spring to put fertilizer (i learned to put it in spring)? Or should I put fertilizer now because of the not-very-freshness of the rosemary?? Thanks. Hi Olivia Tang - I by Olivia Tang

Unknown beetle..
one of these in my soil, I realised that they are the same iridescent beetle I've been seeing for as long as I can remember. I grow a lot of lavender and have four Rosemary plants but have not yet suffered any infestation. I shall be alert from now on by Jules63

what can I plant that's low maintenance?
at the moment my 'garden' ( little patch about 3m x 6m ) is split into 2 patches with a semi-circular path through it which also houses my rotary line! in the corner created by the semi-circle, I have 3 lavender plants and 2 rosemary plants by countrybumpkin

Poorly Rosemary
that sage and rosemary like to grow together. I am not sure if this link will work? http://i608.photobucket.com/albums/tt165/koala_girl/My%20garden%20on%2011th%20March%202012/2012March11rosemary.jpg by Swedboy

Rosemary
with loads of sand and grit to improve drainage. Rosemary is pretty tolerant. Plenty of sun first and foremost, good air circulation. The soil for your current one sounds about right - light, very well drained. They hate wet feet. What happened to the roots by Swedboy

. Chrysolina species. There is a lovely one on garden and water mint, Chrysolina herbacea (formerly called C. menthastri) but if it is on rosemary, sage or lavender it is C. americana, the rosemary leaf beetle.
