Rambling roses
Can I plant a rambling rose to grow up a fir tree or is the environment too acid?  Have many fir trees and want to make them a little more interesting. ....you can plant one, but it's whether you'll want to spend the time tieing the rose to the tree by gadrury

Shrub ChoiceHelp
- Compassion will grow as high as you want and has wonderful huge scented flowers in pinky/apricot and then look at rose companies online to choose another. Or choose a clematis that is evergreen. by Frozz

A beautiful rose that will not flower
Hello everyone. I am a newbie who grows house plants and have, so far, had great success and passed many cuttings on to friends and family. Recently, I saw a nice miniature rose in a supermarket and bought it. It is healthy and its daily growth by Woolfold

New roses for old
. The World's oldest Rose Bush is at least 1,500yrs old and grows alongside Hildesheim Cathedral. My own garden has 73 roses and I expect them all to outlive me. Provided the soil is good and well composted, the bushes are correctly pruned, fed and watered by Naki

BARE ROOT ROSES
in a frost free environment - could you confirm this is so?  Also any further advice on keeping them 'safe' would be welcome.   I have little knowledge of growing or caring for roses. Thank you. Sounds like potential drowning. How about pots of compost by pinkpeony

Talkback: Hybrid musk roses
- they grow and branch not unlike miniature trees - over the last few years I have simply pruned out any branches less than pencil thickness when I prune in January - pruning Penelope too hard will result in a less elegant shape. Higgy: A good thornless rose by sandra

Pruning standard roses
these two are a real faeture in the garden. One is now bigger than the other as it was damaged by snow last winter. Any advice? Cetti Hello Cetti, You'll need to prune your roses to make sure that they grow healthily this summer. A standard rose is pruned by Cetti

Climbing Rose pruning
, there are a rather large amount of mature plants which have been left to grow and grow without any TLC. Which brings me to a climbing rose which is sited on a south facing fence. It has clearly had some pruning over the years, but this is a mature rose by Bobbydazzler
