Talkback: Growing sempervivums
three. Is it ok to carfeully divide the rosettes and replant ??? Any advice gratefully received. I grow a number of different sempervivums in containers.My major problem is caused by birds pulling out the rosettes, completely ruining the clumps by elisestewart

good wildflowers for low Victorian garden wall?
in my garden, so will bear that in mind! Had you thought of native ferns? Sempervivums would probably do well - my sister grows them between the glazing bars and the glass on her greenhouse roof, so they really don't need much to get a foothold. And I by freshairfanatic

Semperviviums
lived nearby i could give you hundreds. I keep them in pots in a gritty soil and they seem to go mad, producing "babies"all over the place. Im sure a local garden centre will have them I love sempervivum...semmapriven......sempermin...I love houseleeks by Stephen Lawrence

range of plants from an oak tree, to little sempervivums.  Many of my spring bulbs have been planted in pots, thoough by no means all.  Fruits do well in pots, if you want to grow trees that are potentially very large, you can use a root bag to contain by phillip jenkins

bath. I saw an idea in a market which was just a wooden frame with bags fixed on the back and a piece of hessian stretched over the front. I've been growing and splitting Sedums and Sempervivums for a couple of years. I think I can make the frame quite by clogherhead

Dry Bank..need suggestions
. The garden drains into the last 10ft of the bank and this is always very damp. I have a few plants growing in it and doing well. However the remainder is very dry and anyhting I plant doesnt survive, only weeds.  Can some suggest something I could plant which by JASON GRAHAM

Looks superb, Kate, and remember, before roof tiles the rain was kept out of our dwellings by sempervivums and sedums growing in the sod roofs, and what glorious colours you can get in these. I'm sorry to say that's not the roof happymarion! Mine by clematis

garden ready for lots of plants that don't grow so well in my exposed garden with little shade. Clay soil is usually very rich in minerals, so once the soil structure is improved you will be able to enjoy hostas, hellebores, primulas, pulmonarias, acteas by tomalli

Sempervivum succulents/houseleeks?
Wintersongs photo (below) has inspired me to grow some Sempervivum succulents. Can anyone please recommend an online supplier of these plants? Id like to grow them in my grey slate pots on the patio as I think they would contrast well, but I need by LeadFarmer
