Skimmia japonica 'Thereza'
Bought and planted (2 days ago) two of these lovely  about 1 foot high Skimmia japonica 'Thereza' which should fill dappled shade/moist soil gaps in a small border when they eventually  grow to their full size.    However, as have bought them likely by yarrow2

Container plant -acid and shady
other ideas? Thanks Noodle I love heuchera but have stopped growing them in pots now as I've lost too many to the dreaded vine weevils.  The ones growing in the borders have all been fine. Gentians!   Heucheras worth a try. Ajugas, small varigated leaved by Supernoodle

Another "Guess the plant" Thread
and foolishly I had just let it grow. Any other ideas? It could be a skimmia or a pieris. Both have white flowers in the Spring. Skimmia have round flat heads composed of lots of tiny flowers, pieris have sprays of lily of the valley shaped flowers. Neither has by Huntertony

christmas wrealths,garlands and table arrangements, so as there are no berries we use other sources of berries that will achieve just as wonderful a display as if using our Ilex berries. There is the crataegus orientalis,Sorbus aira'Lutescens' and Skimmia by SHEDDY

or variegated, viburnum Eve Price which has flowers in winter, skimmia ditto.  For the holly and skimmia to bear fruit you need one of each sex in the neighbourhood or garden.  I'd also plant some shrubs with coloured stems that glow in winter such as cornus by biggarden_smallknowledge

. However, one thing confuses me, in the link above it states that it cannot grow in acidic soils, however, the majority of my shrubs are rhodedendrons and azaleas, which are ericaceous right? It is growing under a skimmia and a rhody... Ruth rhodies etc by Ruth Macleod

winter flowering plants

shrubs
, skimmias, several of the josephs coat shrubs- cant remember exact name. I still have lots of space I am wanting to fill- the idea is to fill full of shrubs so weeds dont grow through = a low maintanence border. Weeds will always grow through to some degree by lucky3
