Sweetcorn
. They just don't want to do anything. Sweet corn needs full sun but also decent warmth. The decent warmth might be lacking. Barry isn't too pleased that I planted my Sunflowers with the Sweetcorn because the Sunflowers are growing faster - the Sunflowers by Moonlit Hare

to pinch out or not
/ shouldn't be pinched out?   Provide some support in the form of sticks for your sweetpeas and sunflowers, they sound ok. Sweetspeas do benefit from a pinch but I've never pinched sunflowers, as most grow on one stem. Unless you have a bush variety by sthlndngrower

Sunflowers
I can't believe I'm asking this question! I feel quite ashamed! Everybody else seems to succeed...but I can't grow sunflowers! I don't want six feet high things - just lots of the shorter versions (e.g. Italian White) popping up in various parts by Berkley
