could try feeding them kitchen scraps as well, and – if you don’t already - grow sunflowers and teasels, leaving them to go to seed for the birds, and also berrying plants such as holly, honeysuckle, pyracantha and cotoneaster. This should take by fussybones

what can go wrong, what things look like and importantly how to corrct them The winter has gone on too long. By the time it is warm enough to plant sunflowers, they won't have time to grow erectly and fully. I have grown all of the ingredients by DABBLER

for the frost circle in their shade in winter though. There was untill three weeks ago a beautiful silver birch growing in a corner of the yard of a neighbour's house. Don't ask me why, as it was a joy to see and doing no harm to anybody, but he has pollarded by joey woosey

Bird feeders causing weeds?
We have a bird feeder station tucked into the corner of one of our beds. I fill this with peanuts, fat balls and BIRD SEED. In the surrounding area underneath a type of grass has started growing in the bed. I assumed it was dreaded couch grass by Surbiton_Margot

New gardener new raised bed
as poss. It is awesome growing stuff from seed - apart from when you keep your foot high sunflowers in the dinning room to protect them from the slugs and your pesky dog eats them! sewed more so fingers crossed. thanks again Yes.... thats the sort of thing by Sinevegas

trying to eradicate the figwort. I used to spend loads of money on seeds and compost to grow them in, but it's not neccesarily the seeds quality. i have found that I can not get any compost these days that does not have weed seeds in, or is of very poor by Lavender Lady
