sweet pea seedlings
If I plant seeds straight into the ground they seem to look after themselves and grow well, but whenever I try to grow sweet peas inside, they start off well, then grow too tall , weaken and fall over. I know you are supposed to pinch out te growing by karen moffat

Talkback: How to sow sweet pea seeds
Tracey I live in the Coldest North ( Aberdeenshire ) and I've been growing Sweet Peas for years...not for exhibition, just because I love them.  For years I used to fiddle and faff around, soaking, freezing, 'chitting' the seeds; planting them on by Just_Sweet_Peas

Sweet Peas
other type of support).  Peas grew to top of canes and wouldn't stop growing so the tops were hanging down.  Rained for weeks and weeks, hardly any blooms and were so high up not easily accessible and looked a mess. This year, I have sweet peas planted by yarrow2

Autumn sown sweet peas
says they are lovely. First of all, I wouldn't pay too much attention  to what Monty Dons says about sweet pea growing. Regarding growing them from autumn sowings, they really don't need any heat at all. They are extremely hardy and will cope with say by CathRJ

Sweet peas and potted bulbs
As an avid watcher of Gardeners World, I follow Monty's advice.  I planted some early sweet peas as per his trial.  I have them in the green house.  Nipped out the growing tips as suggested, but they have grown away like mad.  Going to have to put by Ron Langley

Possible to sow more peas and beans
more, I will being sowing more next weekend. With peas, I think when you try opening a pod straight from the plant, you'll know they're ready when they're good and sweet. If you leave them until the pods bulge, they get a bit tough and starchy. There by lesinnl

sweet peas in pots
There is no room in my little garden for sweet peas. But I'd like to try growing them in pots. Any advice on how it's done most welcome. Particularly, the right size of pot. The seeds which came with the magazine have now germinated . Sweet peas by northchiel

Yes, I'd love to see construction details too - I'll get my hubby to build one for me aswell! I haven't got a problem with a hot box (I don't think). But I WOULD like to try growing SWEET potatoes if it's possible in this country. Has anyone by Colin Knill
