nipping out young plants
I'm very new to gardening- have always just bought stuff at garden centres before. This year I have tried some mini plugs and even tried some seeds. I have pinched out the tips of sweet peas and geraniums but wonder if I should do the same by Bev Pounsett-Krynauw

Sweat pea -disaster
After 17 days of germinated no sweet peas were showing. So I decided to have a furtle and see what was to be had. Nothing is the answer!!! I went through the compost with a fine tooth comb (not literally!) and couldn't even find the seed by * Red Dahlia *

an extra chance to grow some annuals such as peas. beans and sweet peas. That way you could use the produce and still provide the flowers for the insects. As for the pots annuals for quick results and perennials will take longer. If you are not fussy by LMR Dumbarton

New flowers to recommend
'. It's easy to grow, and great in a patio pot. But what about those you've grown this year? Have you grown any new varieties from seed this year? How did they perform? Would you grow them again? Whether your favourites were sweet peas, hardy annuals by Adam Pasco

Protecting plants from frost
Hi, This may be a daft question but I'm quite new to gardening and have planted a lot of things for the first time e.g. sweet peas.  I'm worried about frosts which have been damaging to some of the new growth on my clematis plants in recent weeks so by Abby2

Sweet peas
Hi all- this is the first year I have grown sweet peas from seed and so far quite good results. I planted them in biodegrade able 2 inch pots about 2 weeks ago and after sprouting they've been outside in day and in a plastic greenhouse at night by Jigsaw Gill

Sweet Peas and Frost
Hi I sowed my sweet pea seeds directly into the ground in early March.  Due to the very warm we have just enjoyed they are now growing really well and are about and inch and a half through the soil, although not quite reaching the bottom by Grecian
