- nature will get on with her job when she feels like it.  Enjoy when they do come through.   Not to depress you, but sometimes you do get seeds that just don't, I find sweet peas can be funny - sow 4  types, 3 come and the 4th not - there's no accounting by alan bridges

Ideas for planters on patio?
mix of dianthus and lavendar?  I'm sure the smell would be lovely as well as looking good. My favourite for planters and children are, tomatos, peas and strawberries. If your planters are big enough YELLOW courgettes. This way they can see things grow by LucyLocket5

Hot roof garden = dry pots!
Hello   Last year I moved to a house with a sunny but often windy roof terrace and I set about trying to make it more green and less concrete. Successes were sweet peas, tomatoes, two Clematis (that climbed up the chimney stack) and annual trailing by Jessica CB

Talkback: Controlling weeds
, as they are the natural plants to the area and the country (unless it is an un-natural import such as balsam and japanese knotweed) so have the resources to grow well here.  A weed is ony a plant you feel is in the wrong place, your sweet peas will grow and catch up by Reluctant Gardener
