Why is my thyme growing???
out why they have started to grow this spring compated to last. Its been cold and rainy here in Bristol and I thought they liked it to be dry and hot. Mine also took some time to get going, but are vigorous now. The soil in that bed is dry and poor by Swedboy

Ants in a Herb Garden
We have a Community Herb Garden in which we grow Thyme. Unfortunately Ants are building nests under the spreading thyme and destroying them. What can we do?     Ants love dry ground, is there any way that you can make it damper to deter them?  I had by marigold3

Plants for edging a path
bit of colour. Preferably low growing plants. Small campanulas, hardy geraniums or alchemilla mollis would be lovely. You may want to deadhead alchemilla as she can self seed but she is beautiful. Thymus silver Posie. Lovely taller thyme with pinky by zampano

Creeping thyme (Thymus serpyllum)
not a vegetarian My husband is a very keen cook, so I like (or rather NEED) to grow lots of thyme for him to use in his cooking.  I kid you not, he uses a large sprig of fresh thyme if not every night, then every other night.  As 'head gardener by chellie

Difference between garden centre and grocery store herbs
Is there a difference between garden centre grown herbs and the one you get in your local grocery store? I bought a thyme plant from a grocery store a few days ago and today when I visited the garden centre, although the thyme scent were exactly by Kitty Jingga

Hot roof garden = dry pots!
once a week. I just used miracle grow compost.   The big disappointment was my drought loving plants such as Lavender, Thyme and Rosemary... They all died by mid summer!   So my first question is - what did I do wrong?! Too much watering?   This year I by Jessica CB

Beginner failing miserably.
