interest, hardy, fool proof and with very little shelter. I was hoping for a camelia or rhodo, (something I presume won't grow well in my neutral soil) Any ideas? Thanks I am a little confused, are you looking for a climber. Are you planning on using by debanslow

Planting around Apple Tree
possibly plant something around the tree or would this not be a wise thing to do ? I have climbing roses growing through apple trees, and also honeysuckle. That works, though you need to ensure that the particular climbing plant is not too vigourous by Brumbull

Talkback: RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2009 - herbs for wildlife
Where can I buy seeds or plants ? I have seven already , must get the other three: angelica , caraway and fennel. I'm including a herb garden into my new plot and will take this info onboard. Don't think I'll grow the nettles deliberately by catwoman1

Belfast sink.
growing them either. Thanks Weejenny and Jude. Thymes,Oregano,Chives,Sages and Parsley would look great in a sink  You could try Sweet Basil but I always seem to do better with it in my greenhouse. There is  a Basil called 'African Blue' which would grow by jean riley

Advice for a novice
such as the small hollies are good, christmas box, any of the smaller euonymous, golden laurel  - lots of choices for pots, worth looking around some good web sites for what is on offer now. The reality is that you can grow anything in a pot as long as you by Stewart Forward

Ants friend or foe
thymes and cneorum there in the past. I discovered ants' nests there so used ant powder. Problem solved. However, ants are everywhere and I have no intention of killing them just because they exist. I dont know what good they do but they have a right by Caddicks Girl
