Tomatos not growing well
tomato plants are doing quite well and are in pots, they are about 6/8" high with quite a few leaves. Do I put them into growbags now or do they have to flower first? Hi Loz, i would pot them on into larger pots first to let them grow bigger and stronger by bubblegum

year having a greenhouse to grow tomatoes in. How wonderful to not have mountains of green tomatoes to make into chutney. I was thrilled however with the suggestions in this video by Monty as to how to improve the quality of the plants in my growbags by lbayston

to the stakes every few inches or so and i make sure that they are tied under every truss...its not a good idea to let more than four or five trusses form and i aim for six or seven tomatoes from each truss...everything else gets pinched off with the growing tip by Jacquie Platt

Talkback: How to grow tomatoes from seed
. Didn't know about watering the compost before you sow the seeds. I grow my toms in a greenhouse, and usually put the 8week seedlings large tomato pots immediatly. Seems to work, but you'd need a greenhouse to do it. I had some good success using one by lbayston

I know it is very late in the season, but could you tell me whether it is still possible to grow tomatoes from seed? Not really-you will be so better of buying in plants-but you have little to lose by trying I'm trying to freecycle a dozen surplus by artychris

New gardener advice on growing tomato's please
: http://www.tomatogrowing.co.uk/html/tomato_growing_tips.html Lots of good advice! If they still haven't appeared, you can cover the top with cling film until they do, so they won't dry out. But remove it once the seedlings emerge. I have a little bottle by Jamjaf
