early show in the spring. I've had snail damage on the leaves of tulips but all other bulbs. especially alliums seem to be immune. To get a sure-fire spectacular display of flowers why not try small shrubs eg. hebes. just grow them large enough by Sharon14

What are these?
Can anyone tell me what these are please? I was removing an old plant from a pot and found these. I only thought I had Daffs and Tulips in the pots but I don't think they are either of these as there are no signs of any growth. I'd love to say I by Bev Pounsett-Krynauw

Planting around Apple Tree
possibly plant something around the tree or would this not be a wise thing to do ? I have climbing roses growing through apple trees, and also honeysuckle. That works, though you need to ensure that the particular climbing plant is not too vigourous by Brumbull

Meconopsis- blue poppy - lingholm. Bareroot hostas
hydrangeas, even tulips survive the clay. Also received  some bareroot hostas should I pot on first and plant out in a few weeks? The meconopsis do well in scotland in damp acid woodland type conditions.   I grow them from seed, but I sow the seed in late by dizzylizzy

it has been so called,i am not an experienced grower,it would be very disapointing if i end up with nothing after what i have laid out to try and grow my own plants from seed. What varieties did you sow?  Border plants sound like perennials by alan bridges

Himalayan blue poppy
&M and they sent me 2 more and said it was probably they were too cold. I've potted on the new ones and kept them in the kitchen but they are going the same way as the 1st ones, just a little slower. Help, I love these plants but don't seem destined to grow them by Rosemary Hawley
