Viola Vs Violet
violets growing in my garden, and they are definitely not the same as violas! For one thing they do actually smell....well of violets! Perhaps try a specialist nursery for wild plants? by julieasayers

Talkback: Vinca or periwinkle
Yes, in the wrong place, it's a nightmare. But it's invaluable in one part of my garden - a north-facing 'bed' under two conifers - where nothing else will grow! How can I get rid of violets? I let a few grow because my wife likes the colours by Sharon14

I'm getting married in early June. I'm on a shoestring budget but I love gardening and I'm hoping to grow my own flowers. I'm thinking small pot plants like pansies and violets for decoration and would love to grow some flowers to cut for some small by lyndsayg

HELP
for several years and have had the odd infestation and had to resort to a quick spray. Are you growing them in the right conditions ? It suggests to me that they may be a bit too dry. African violets like a humid condition and I always water from underneath by tony williams2

Shadyish paving creepers
Anyone got any suggestions for plants that'll creep through the gaps between paving in slightly shady spots? Soil is average loam and limy. I've done your bugles, sedums, violets, tiny ivies and london pride, and whatever I use needs to be pretty by auntie betty

Choosing a damson tree
We want to plant a damson tree this autumn in our woodland garden. It will get plenty of sun in the planned position. We don't want it to grow too large, but we are hoping for a prolific fruiter with good flavour  for jam-making, crumbles, damson by wisehedgecrone
