wildflowers
which are the best wildflowers to grow in pots as i have only a countyard garden I have some dwarf cornflower (I think they're called 'midget blue') that seem to be coming along well in pots; they're not strictly wildflowers but the bees love 'em by derrick hammer

Nice and simple to do! I'm trying to turn a plain boring verge into a wildflower "meadow" - bought plugs are too expensive a way to do it and I've had poor result (sub 10%) with direct planted seed, so this would make a good use of my plug trays by GlenG

Wildflowers in tubs
Is it possible to grow wildflowers in tubs?  Our garden is landscaped and we do not have a lot of flower beds, but want to plant perennial wildflowers.   Yes, it certainly is possible and they like pretty poor, well-drained soil.  The only problem by LMR Dumbarton

Wildflower turf
....is that what you think Sotongeoff? Well you could do but then will be left with a dead mat of roots-so  you will still need dig the soil over to give the wildflowers something to grow into-something like weedol is quick acting and you will see the results in a by Loz

Talkback: Creeping thistle
We had a natural wildflower patch professional sown and had lots of these thistles. Very pretty but now had thistles growing in the middle of the lawn !!! I'm glad the above advise confirms I'm doing the right thing by both digging out and using by MalcolmJ

Hi, my friend has a patch of soil 2x2 m which is not that fertile she wants somthing that attracts bees and butterflys she wants it either to grow very fast to be able to dig it up and move it around by gardener bee

how to cultivate moss where there is grass
I would like to cultivate moss instead of grass in lawn and promote wildflowers. should i feed moss. Ideas pls. If you want to grow moss and wildflowers you are going to have to reverse what most gardeners want and that is create poor soil-it has by C15.52

meadow plants
the prepared area in autumn but you can buy yellow rattle as plug plants in april.  Yellow rattle is a parasitic plant on grass and will help to create areas for other plants to grow. Find a supplier of wildflower plants and seeds on line; the list of native by dobby2

meadow turf
can anyone help me. i want to plant a meadow i want to know if i can buy meadow turf/meadow grass seed? You can certainly buy both.The RHS have a good page of advice about growing meadows, that covers a lot of points that you need to know about by alison johnson

June cut flowers
bouquets and vases. Any suggestions for what I could grow now (from seed or cheap plants!) that would be likely to be in bloom early June? I love wildflowers but anything colourful will be lovely. by lyndsayg
