Talkback: Growing zinnias
I grew zinnias for the first time this year and they have flowered continuously throughout the summer and still going strong. They were easy to grow from seed and I had a good germinate rate. They do not need dead heading like petunias or cosmos by Lila Das Gupta

Growing veg with little space
Can I realistically grow much in containers? I don't have much luck with tomatoes so thought I would stick to salad leaves etc, but also love carrots, cucumber, onions, sweet peppers, courgettes and beetroot in particular. I've bought varieties by laarobbins

growing asparagus in containers
Is it possible to grow them in containers? Thinking of giving a veg loving friend one but he has lost his border due to the landlord building a bike rack on the site. You can - there's even this YouTube video telling you how: http by Swedboy

Talkback: Growing and eating apples
- I could... but I'd have to grow them on MM26/27 rootstock so the fruits and crop would be smaller and the plant would be more susceptible to pests and diseases. My garden only gets two hours sunshine a day too, which doesn't make for very tasty by patientgardener
