a look at the root system and checking for any grubs. There is a nasty White c- shaped maggoty thing with a dark head which is the larva of the vine weevil, which eats roots, but I've not heard of it attacking an acer of substantial size. Another by cskourte

pest and have to be eradicated. I also agree with Grumble2007. Having paid a small fortune to have my lawn relaid (it was ruined by chafer grubs last year), it's heartbreaking to have it destroyed by moles. Again. And paying £70 a time for a mole by chloet

were yellow bits on the leaves but l noticed a lot of wasps nibbling at them, l cut them off recently, thats the leaves ha ha, but l'm going to whatch this year to see if they manage to get at the little grubs, thats the wasps ha ha. I have had gardens by Katkin

to grow,feed them with a general fertilizer, the flowers are loved by Bees, watch out for the Vine Weevil grubs,these dreadful insects can cause such fatalities , they eat the roots,the results dont always show for some time,i usually use Vine Weevil earth by Madeleine51
