Hedge problems
disease which kills woody plants - especially those that are otherwise under stress. Sadly, the only option is to grub up the plants and burn them. To check whether it is honey fungus you should look in the soil for the black 'boot laces' or rhizomorphs by Kev Kelly

Frogs & Ants
've emptied the old grow bag - that will have destroyed the nest - the frogs will eat any grubs/cocoons left laying around.  If you've got plenty of activity going on in the greenhouse now that spring is here the ants are likely to look for somwhere else dry by jjgarden

Talkback: Stag beetles
suitable undisturbed breeding places. Reply to FriedaI think you may be labouring under a misapprehension. Just as young butterflies are caterpillars, young stag beetles are grubs (or maggots or larvae depending on our vernacular choice). They do vary by fruit trees

What is eating my cooking apple tree?
think you are right and you probably have a borer grub at work there.  Try a google for "apple tree borer" which may give you some ideas on ways to treat it.  Some of the google images look very similar to your photo's.  If you don't get it soon by Nicole2

Talkback: Protecting fruit from birds
Not me! Mainly because the wasps beat the birds to my fruit.... that is, all those that haven't already fallen prey to codling moth grubs. But part-eaten fruit are still good for juicing (once the nibbled bits have been cut away). And like Ryan, I by Ryan

Eelworm in Onions
did contain onion fly grubs, though we have concluded that they are a sort of 'secondary infection' because the plants are weakened) but they all have severely distorted foliage, flattened and wavy leaves, and are generally unthrifty. We wondered by Raven48

creepy crawlies in the soil on the allotment
cultivating your soil and nuke what you find as I do.  I always do at least an extra 3 of everything I put in and keep them in the tunnel or coldframe.  When I see a wilting plant I dig it up and 8 times out of 10 there's a chafer grub but the other times by pennypat
