Too early for annual seeds?

proud in their tray waiting to be potted on. As I post this comment my computer is next to a deep windowsill (no greenhouse unfortunately) crammed with hardy annuals in little cell trays growing by the hour!Can't wait to see them all in the wonderful by Antonia

Pots of summer colour in partial shade
I haven't got around to the planned big tree chop this autumn/winter AGAIN so was hoping for some help with getting some summer colour in the shady bit of my garden - it needs to flower for ages - perhaps something tender or half-hardy by auntie betty

. If they are half hardy annuals you should be able to put them in the greenhouse to keep the frost off, but what temperatures are you getting at night? Is it below zero? Shazzy , please tell us what perennials they are.  The plugs should be potted up.   The large by shazza3

  ever flowering wallflower. or as it is orange and scented more likely siberian wallfower.. they are gorgeous and very scented..  and half hardy.. keep protected ove rwinter and it will survive.. you can get seeds from that but all otehr erysimum by yarrow2

goes or the plastic joints break. I won't be growing anything that needs to spend its whole life inside like fussy tomatoes, I'll grow outside types, but I would like to grow some half hardy annuals and hardy annuals and perennials that like a cosy by cloud8

over wintering osteospurmum.
low growing osteos,is it a case of the bushy bedding ones i am keeping are just annuals?i thought the bedding ones were half hardy.in any case i will take cuttings and store them in my outbuilding. would September and softwood cuttings be best? Hiya by cotty1000

-I sowed some weeks back on a windowsill -came up within a week plants now hardening off in the cold frame. Just treat as another other half-hardy annual-if you are stiil using home made compost as a seedling compost-that might be the problem. I haven by Swedboy
