What to sow in January
-anything that needs heat to germinate is probably a half-hardy annual-the clue is in the title-and wont be planted out until Mid-May at the earliest-so that is why you don't need to start now Patience is a virtue after all Having said all that-what flowers are we by nodlisab

WEATHER this week

Garden arches planting - help needed

Is it ever going to STOP!!!!
  then start again then stop again....The outdoor tomatoes are getting waterlogged...Even in the greenhouse things are very different this year..The sweet peppers are only half as big as they should be....the cucumber hasnt started to flower yet although by susan howard2

well are Pulmonaria(lungwort)which is so bright and lovely,Aquilegia which come in so many colours and Hardy geranium and the best thing about these three is the slugs and snails leave them alone,unlike the woodland flowers which I've started visiting by Galic and Snails

when is the best time of year to sow biennials such as digitalis, delphinium, and lupins I'd sow foxgloves (digitalis) now, or you can also sow in March/April. Lupins are hardy perennials, and I'd sow in Feb/March if possible, as plants raised from by Sarah, Bournemouth
