it just looks brown and dead. Have I lost it? Hello Burtie, Some daisies-type plants are annuals, so they would naturally die after a few months. Many however are perennials and could live for years if hardy. Do you have any photos of it when by BURTIE

Tree/shrub suggestion
. If informal you can grow fuschias, some hardy some not, but they die down in winter. Or caryopteris, but again not in winter. You say all year round, so does that mean you would like it evergreen? Euonymus is evergreen, several varieties - look them up by GiilyP

Plants or flowers from seed
perennials or annuals or don't you mind? If it's in shade and you want annuals in tubs that narrows the choice, but "Busy-Lizzies" (Impatiens) are a classic for that situation. Bedding begonias, violas and pansies as well. I get mine as plug plants, but you by bunnysgarden

HELP me please!!
plants are better value. Have a look at perennial wallflowers Erysimum 'Bowles's Mauve' or Lavenders, Hebes are good but a little boring. Hardy fuchsias. Daffodils are good value. I would also consider growing cosmos from seed. All hardy annuals are good by natalia85

My Garden 2012
, but this one easily outdid that (with lots of fertilizer and good old deadheading...) Phlox can be a little tricky to sprout, and they only do it naturally at the end of winter and beginning of spring. Annual phlox is not hardy, though; it has few roots and do by rusflorum

Pots of summer colour in partial shade
I haven't got around to the planned big tree chop this autumn/winter AGAIN so was hoping for some help with getting some summer colour in the shady bit of my garden - it needs to flower for ages - perhaps something tender or half-hardy by auntie betty
