over wintering osteospurmum.
have found.   Think you're right about the hardiness thing GG. Up here we look at them as annuals most of the time but Verdun's advice sounds pretty good to me especially when you think of their natural habitat. i have successfully propagated the hardy by cotty1000

bitten off cleanly but was not eaten. i suppose the snail spat it out and shouted "yuk" that tastes awful. lol They do nibble pelargoniums, which are often called bedding geraniums. The hardy true perennial geraniums seem immune. I've never noticed any by Bev Pounsett-Krynauw

When to plant seeds?
be great. It has been a miserable year for seedlings. It will depend on the type of seeds, you can sow biennials now, hardy annuals can be sown in the autumn for early summer flowers. It is too late for tender plants but if you have a cold frame you could by Mandy2

Anyone grown stocks or snapdragons from seed?
've heard that stocks at least are quite hardy, so maybe I'm cosseting them too much by keeping them in the mini greenhouse. Antirrhinums are fairly hardy as well PF, sometimes they last through a winter.Have you pricked them out? I'd grow them on a bit by PaperFlowers
