Talkback: Christmas traditions
squash with my Christmas dinner, all of which I picked from my garden this morning (apart from the squash, which was harvested in Oct.), so I'm very much with donutsmrs here! I've done this for over 30 years and it's definitely my main Christmas tradition by oldchippy

Veg planting chart
Can anyone tell me where I can find a good/comprehensive veg planting chart, one that gives you the months to plant inside, outside and when to harvest?   If all goes to plan, I'll be moving to a new house in six weeks time with a 'second garden by LilAmbar

Seed Potatoes
again? I'm not clear whether these were forgotten seed potatioes or ones you had harvested?  If the latter, they will probably grow but you will not get as much of a crop from them, and there is always the danger of blight - which new seed potatoes may by Dolphin_in_the_deep

Pak Choi has bolted :(
) in late March and then potted about 6 weeks ago where theyve shot up Question, are they now not edible? And could I harvest the seeds from them for next season? If they are edible, should I get them out now? They are nowhere near as bushy by Paul H

astrantia from seed
I am having difficulty growing astrantia from seed,with only one seedling so far. How do you grow them? cotty.. i have struggled for some years to grow them.. but last year i harvested a load of white seeds and a colour i do not know as pinched seed by cotty1000

that this year you left it in too long. Tradition has it that you plant it on the shortest day & harvest it on the longest day.I generally harvest it in July, once the outer leaves start to go brown & dry. Leave it too long & I understand the heads tend to divide by jc

through the corner of an old fruit cage left behind by the previous tenant and are right at the edge of the plot almost on the path and boundary with the adjacent plots. I have managed to harvest about 24 good sized spears from the 2 patches and they have by oldchippy

. Suppose it is the standard excuse.. global warming!!! I recently got a rhubarb plant not sure how old but as lots of big leaves and small stems can anyone advice me on how to grow it and when it is ready for stems to harvest please. Iam new to this fruit by RoseySkeff

Echinaceas
Anyone growing the new echinaceas? Any wilting problems? I bought several varieties......fatal attraction, tiki torch, sunrise, harvest moon etc,.... And all wilted. I decided to pot up and grow on and last year they wilted again. I cut the, down by christopher2

onion sets
. I believe it's to do with using the 'food' contained in the bulb to produce foliage. Later, when they have foliage, they can use it to photosynthesise. Then they are able to grow the bulb and make the kind of onion that can be harvested. Have a look by kevin merriman
