Talkback: Hedge bindweed
The leaves on my garden hedge (Privit) are falling of, due to the freezing weather, I suspect.At one side of my garden gate is a reasonably new hedge of two years and the other side is a well established mature hedge. Can you tell me if my hedge by mollyme

bind weed in compost bin!
of the roots. Help someone? If it's coming up from the bottom the fabric should stop it. You would need to get all the root out to be free of it but it could be done. I find the big white hedge bindweed much easier to get rid of than the little pink field by Sue H

Invasive climbing weed, can anyone identify
of the shrubs. It then grows all around the tops of the shrubs. Will attempt to attach a photo No real clues but I'm making a stab in the dark at wild hops. Maybe more information will change my mind for me. Can I suggest you google images of bindweed and see by quite contrary

unwanted ivy
itself, using Round-Up where I couldn't extract the roots. If yours isn't growing against and into a wall, life will be easier.   Bramble killer usually works for me where ordinary weedkillers don't, including ancient ivies, brambles and bindweed. It can by jackie grigg

Complete novice thwarted by the weeds!
'm dealing with: dandelions in the lawn and the paving bindweed in the hedge some kind of creeping weed with long green leaves in the lawn horsetail in the lawn and the paving   Any suggestions that don't involve ripping the whole garden up and starting again by Emma Mitchell

Best and worst
- "plants for free" is my motto .  My worst job has to be getting rid of those ever present brambles - I never seem to win that fight without injury! Best is planting new stuff out.  Worst is weeding out couch grass, creeping buttercup, nettles and bindweed by Brumbull

what is this thats killing all our hedge and what can i do
i can get rid of t as we are going to be cutting all he conifers down this week and planting a new hedge and really dont want it to succomb to the same end       Ivy by the look of it It is not killing anything You can try digging it out or spraying by christine de vries

getting on with the neighbours
up by my bay hedge.. they have huge bushes and trees that are unkept pushing it out onto our garden.. i have told them but the do nothing.. their leylandi are tall and take all out light from the house and have aksed for them to be cut down.. still no by Gardening Grandma

Bees, Butterflies and Blooms
and many wee bits make a huge bit eventualy. I agree, the Sarah Raven programme was fantastic, and it all makes sence, just let the hedge rows/wild flowers grow,we have many baron fields around us that look dreadful so why can't they be ploughed then sewn by Botticelliwoman
