Talkback: Mouse in the compost bin

,twigs and softwood trimmings which the hedgehogs seem to like.I also get wild rabbits visits from the the church grounds nearby, who ate all my annual seedlings earlier in the year. I thought my next doors huge veg patch would have been much more attractive by John Waters

they will almost feed out of my hand. I have a fox too every night - and a hedgehog and various cats - just hope they don't decide to attack each other. They appear to put up with each other. by Margaret

to be here as we do. I belong to rescue groups for Bats and hedgehogs and our cats have grown up with them and a variety of birds without ever harming one.Also cat's in a rural enviroment kepp down mice and other vermin, which I might also add have a right by Ruth Varley

the bees, buterflies, hedgehogs and they get my slugs, and the birds.. and over the last 2 years i have managed to do it rather well.. so will keep going.   Our native columbine is Aquilegia vulgaris which grows wild in england, Scotland, and Wales by donutsmrs

Invasion of the slippery slugs
they cause and their use as a food source for some birds, hedgehogs and other wildlife - mostly the former I think !!! They do seem to be thriving this year given the rain, rain and then more rain !! We have a very varied wildlife environment in and around by susan howard2

Talkback: Rats in the garden
in the top and it gets taken down the holes to the bottom. Never seen them out during the day and the hedgehog food is still there in the morning if the foxes don't get it (know it's the foxes 'cos they leave a little thank you gift!). Poison by catrincardiff

greenfinches and chaffinches. robins, blackbirds, starlings, 2 collard doves, 2 pigeons,2 magpies, several crows, 2 jackdaws, a wren, coal tit. It's only a small front garden but we have counted 80 birds at a single count. fantastic. We even have a hedgehog by Roy McFarland

you know the results. I too use nematodes very successfully on a Hosta bed but they do NOT work on snails at all. Certainly encouraging wildlife helps protect Hostas, frogs, toads, hedgehogs as well as birds love devouring slugs and snails. Egg shells by N Freeland.Somerset

dahlia flowers but I let them be and now I'm delighted to see hedgehog droppings around the garden, with bits of earwig exoskeleton in them! I've created a simple, wildlife dinner plate in the garden - just a paving slab where I pop (literally!) slugs by Chalkweed
