herbs
new to computers so bare with me if i make mistakes. can i grow herbs from seed now in an unheated greenhouse? I'm in north west area. many thanks Most of our herbs come from warmer climes so I'd leave it a while. More likely to rot than germinate by Marg48

I received a wonderful birthday present this morning of a large selection of herbs and a standard bay tree. Is it too early to plant them outside? I live in the south of England. Thanks for your help. I wouldn't plant them out just yet, if you by Kayfersmum

Ants in a Herb Garden
We have a Community Herb Garden in which we grow Thyme. Unfortunately Ants are building nests under the spreading thyme and destroying them. What can we do?     Ants love dry ground, is there any way that you can make it damper to deter them?  I had by marigold3

I have a smallish area ( more a triangle ) which i have decided to create a herb garden in. I have been looking at designs, and reading up on all things herbs...ideally evergreen varierty...aka...something to look at as well as too eat. Any thoughts by garjobo

Tomatoes And Herbs
, is it okay just to pot herb in tubs using a muli-purpose or tub&basket or would it be better to get the fruit&veg compost bags. Thanks in advance x I only ever use multipurpose compost for my tomatoes and they do fine. I mix it with garden soil but that by Tina_i_am

Herb infestation
As the title says I'm having problems with my indoor herbs. I noticed white 'dust' on the table and then realised it was all over my herbs mostly on the stems but some on the leaves too I believe they are greenfly eggs they are like tiny white seed by phoenixx87

Raised herb garden
I am planning a raised herb garden this year and wonder what plants/ flowers would make good companions? marigolds the old fashion sort,nastursiums,comfrey(although this can be big and take over useful if kept in check) lavender by Bookwormy

Problems with herbs
Hi everyone, Now that it is mid-winter, I have brought my herbs into the greenhouse to keep them warmer. But, they all seem to of been affected by some sort of disease or virus. This problem has created white spots all over the leaves. Plants by Andrew Martin

Herbs dying
Has anyone else been having trouble with herbs this year?  I grow mine in containers - mint, oregano, feverfew etc - and almost all of them have had diseased leaves, poor growth and when the sun finally did arrive last week, scorched leaves.  Even by jalcinto
