What plant would I need as a pollinator for this female variety of ilex? A male holly? Golden Queen? Two very misnamed varieties. by Carol Waterhouse

This is the first year that my aquafolium Ilex has had only one berry on and this is well hidden from the birds. I am lucky to have friends that allow me to prune there Ilex's for them so I have avast amount to play with in teaching workshops by SHEDDY

other choice. Hope someone may have some ideas. Thank you James Hi James, I think finding a plant with the name (cultivar) 'Holly' could be tricky.  Other than the obvious Holly (Ilex) you mentioned, the only other plant with holly in the name I could by Hollydog11

Wheres my berries???
. It is an Ilex Aquifolium 'Alaska'. Any helpful comments gratefully received. Claba, Grantham, Lincolnshire. If there aren't any green ones now, you won't get any red ones later. I have a poor year for holly berries this year. Summer 2012 to blame again by claba

Hedging
I wish to plant a small hedge at the road end of my garden.   To deter dogs I am thinking of Holly, not only for the prickles but also I assume the tough shiny leaves will be less damaged by urine.    Although no spines I would prefer Ilex Golden by Dennis Durrant

Hi All, I recently saw a magnificent specimen of what I thought was a silver-variegated form of Holly. My research suggests that it probably was Ilex aquifolium 'Argentea Marginata' as it had silver variegated spiky leaves and stood at 6m+ tall by Phytographer

Holly Bush not very well.
with the amount of leaves that are falling off it. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?   It's probably Ilex Aquofolium JC Van Tol from the sounds of it.  Although hollies are evergreens, all evergreens lose  leaves throughout the year so it may by Mark3
