Honeysuckle mildew problem
Hi all, I bought a honeysuckle at Hampton Court this year and planted in an open area with good air circulation against a wooden fence. Although it has put out some climbers and has flowered well and now has red berries, I have been battling mildew by yvette303

I can do to encourage flowering? Honeysuckles can take a while to get established before they flower, sometimes a couple of years. Mine are always covered with mildew resulting in leaf drop and poor flowering. Is it to do with our climate being more by Miggywiggy

Honeysuckle
It looks like a nasty case of mildew, which can be caused by the honeysuckle being too dry at the roots, or too much rain. Try spraying with one part milk to nine parts water every two days until the greyness is gone. The yellow leaves by Nik Zuk

very sad looking honeysuckle
help - I was looking forward to my honeysuckle covering my arch - but no - I think it has mildew, the leaves look furry and eventually drop off. Is it too dry or too wet, and can anything we done about it? The weather has been too wet and humid. You by dudsybabe1

black spot. There was no need to get rid of them. Honeysuckle - it probably has mildew. Again, it needs to be sprayed regularly to keep it under control. It is also important to make sure that its roots are kept moist, as dryness will encourage mildew by Rushie

New roses for old
and at this time every plant becomes covered in powdery mildew and I end up having to cut off almost all of the leaves.  When the buds flower they only last about a week and  they always seem too heavy for the spindly thin stems.  Consideration for the previous by Naki

What is your kind of garden?
interest . I have shrubs, trees and evergreens as the mainstay and climbers , a rockery and a patio with allsorts in pots . I 've got a trellis around the patio and grow annual climbers to ring the changes amongst the honeysuckle etc. so a bit of a mishmash by Gardening Grandma
