Soil improvement
on replacing the last trench made with the soil from the first trench. As you dig put some farmyard manure (you can but bags of it in GC's or DIY stores) into the trench you are filling up' When this is done cover the top with soil improver - cheap compost by Susan O'Meara

Advice on garden improvements
of creating some raised beds, and hope, in the not too distant future, to get  a greenhouse. Any thoughts / suggestions / advice would be welcome.  Just don't know where or how to start improving it.     May be you should make some raised beds in pattern by LorraineP

Is it too late to improve drainage?
to put into the same bed. I'm worried that my bedding plants are not going to do well in the moisture heavy soil. Is there anything I can do to improve drainage without digging everything up? Is there any hope at all that it might be alright despite my by Amy From Adelaide

When to improve soil?
Most of the soil in my garden is quite good except for one large patch (approx 2m x 2m) near to the house where water 'puddles' on the top. As a novice I've been reading up and the best solution seems to be to improve the soil as it's too compacted by cazzieb

Hi I have a border which has been covered with weed suppressant fabric and bark. I'm now ready to lift all of it up and start to plant a new herbaceous border. I was looking for ideas on what to use for improving the soil. It's not clay but I think by pavery026

Talkback: How to improve soil with green manure
worth getting. :) Some green manures will help with adding nutrients to the soil while others are soil improvers. I garden on heavy clay and have seen an improvement to my soil already. Useful ad discuss with Mark I've bought a grass seed for a pice by GlentoranMark
