Holly and Ivy
I read a great post on a blog I follow about the folklore behind Holly and Ivy. You can find it if you google "wellywoman holly Ivy" The bit about "holming" was interesting, if not slightly worrying..... by spuddi

How do I get rid of Ivy from the rockery?
Hi, can anyone please give me a solution as to how I can get rid of ivy that is growing through my rockery, it is killing off the plants I wish to grow there and it is rooting all over the place, even in the lawn.  Any advice is welcome.  Thanks by sterelitza

Climbing Ivy
I have a variegated ivy climbing up a well established cherry tree. It all looks very nice but I am concerned that the ivy may kill the tree. How long would this take ? Should I remove the ivy ? If it looks nice just cut some back from time to time by Fish2
