Talkback: Garden wildlife
to go down the organic and not too tidy route. I emphasise encourage, not bludgeon. Most of them don't notice what I do providing their garden looks good. One of the few things I can't sort out organically however is Japanese Knotweed. Anybody got any by Bradleys garden

which plants would be best?
,rogersias and acteas would grow well for you. Grasses like hakonechloa, acorus, Bowles golden grass and loads of carex with their coloured foliage too. Vincas, some variegated, arum lilies and what about dwarf and Japanese willows and maples? Chris I can recommend by chellie

Help with identification, this plant is ruining my summer!
nuisance plant nonetheless. If the leaves are circular/oval rather than elongated it may not be Himalayan Balsam. Bad news is that it may be Japanese Knotweed in this case: http://apps.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/profile.aspx?pid=218 This is not an easy plant by Twinkle_83

Rosebay Willowherb
- can it damage brickwork or structures?  If I can manage to control it this year, will it return just as bad next year?  Help!     It spreads via underground rhizomes as well as from seed. It is not like Japanese Knotweed but is very vigorous by Pinklepurr

Talkback: Bindweed
the roundup applicator - too clumsy to be practical. I agree that bindweed is a blasted nuisance, but I keep the whole thing in proportion because in my last garden I had Japanese Knotweed and Horsetail. These were much worse pests because nothing seemed by Middle Man

that issue, and I don't think we can lay the blame solely with guerrilla gardeners. Seeds from gardens can be easily carried over the fence by birds, mammals and wind, as we've sadly seen in the invasion of cotoneaster, Himalayan balsam, Japanese knotweed by alanthomas

Bamboo taking over the world.... Okay, garden.
weedkiller we can find and we think we might now just have cracked it... unless it pops up somewhere else.  So... be VERY careful about planting any fast growing bamboo in the garden... think of it as like japanese knotweed...if it gets out of control by Loz46
